Welcome to HLQAT.org

This is the home of the Hospital Leadership and Quality Assessment Tool (HLQAT).

HLQAT is a self-assessment tool to help hospitals identify and improve leadership structures and processes that are associated with high performance in clinical quality measures.

At this site you will be able to:

  • Complete the HLQAT self-assessment
  • Receive a hospital-level HLQAT report
  • Benchmark your performance against other hospitals on a continuum of leadership attributes that are strongly correlated with high performance on measures of clinical quality
  • Read through a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the HLQAT

Interested hospitals that wish to improve their performance may also sign on for access to a set of Resources for Leadership Interventions (RLIs), comprised of over 120 on-line evidence-based resources (articles, tools, and other resources) targeted to specific opportunities identified through HLQAT.

We hope you find the HLQAT useful as you facilitate meaningful leadership conversations and higher levels of quality in your hospital.

About HLQAT:

HLQAT is the result of a public-private collaboration of national organizations interested in helping hospitals maximize their reimbursement on value-based purchasing quality measure sets.

  • In the next few months, we look forward to sharing our findings regarding the HLQAT research program funded by the Commonwealth Fund.

As the research study winds down this summer, we will shift our focus and re-commit to disseminating resources to help hospitals improve the quality of care using the HLQAT as a facilitation tool. This work will involve several enhancements to the HLQAT.org website, which we will share in a set of webinars to take place this summer.

If you need assistance before you attend our summer webinar, we recommend that you contact your local state hospital association or QIO for support.
